Addison Road to headline Southern Nevada’s first valley-wide, nondenominational Christian music festival Sept. 19
Ticket proceeds to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS – More than 30 percent of Nevada’s population is Christian. To bring the Southern Nevada Christian community together, Free to Worship Ministries will host one of the largest Christian outdoor music festivals in Southern Nevada history Sept. 19.
Nearly 10 Southern Nevada Christian bands of various Christian backgrounds will provide the entertainment for the half-day music festival. The event will feature special guest Addison Road, a well-known Christian band, which will close out the event.
Established in 2001, Addison Road features Jenny Simmons (vocals), Ryan Simmons (guitar, vocals, piano), Ryan Gregg (guitar, vocals), Travis Lawrence (bass, vocals, harmonica) and Jeff Sutton (drums). The band has toured the country as a support act for such artists as the David Crowder Band and Sara Groves. Their latest single, "All That Matters," has found much success on Christian charts, and they have even received an American Christian Music Award nomination.
“Our goal is to truly unite Southern Nevada Christians through music and fun, and we believe we have great potential to make this a growing annual event,” said Eric Fligel, president of Free to Worship Ministries, which is in the process of obtaining 501(C)(3) status.
Participating bands include: United Student Ministries; Gospel Graffiti; Living Stone; Victor Manwill Band (Central Christian Church); Community Lutheran Church Praise Team; Summit Grove; The Crossing; The Chris Childers Project; Maryland Parkway; and Atlas Takes Aim (Canyon Ridge Christian Church).
Sponsorship opportunities are available and are tax deductible. Current sponsors include SOS Radio 90.5, a contemporary Christian radio station owned by Faith Communications Corporation, a non-profit corporation, Production Resource Group, LLC (PRG), the world’s leading supplier of entertainment technology solutions and Mommy Directory, a quarterly publication providing resources to parents in Southern Nevada.
All ticket proceeds will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Greater Las Vegas. To make the music festival affordable for individuals and families, tickets cost $5 each. Children under 12 are free. To purchase tickets, visit iTickets.com and search any Las Vegas/Henderson zip code. A charge of $4 is added per receipt by iTickets, so people are encouraged to purchase tickets for friends and family all at once.
“We chose to donate the proceeds to Ronald McDonald House® because several of our planning committee members had either been touched directly by the organization or known someone who had been,” Fligel said. “That personal connection was important to us. We wanted to give back to an organization that had done so much for not just those we love – but for the nearly 2,000 other families the organization has helped since its local establishment in 1998.”
Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC) of Greater Las Vegas creates and supports programs that directly improve the health, education and well-being of children in the Las Vegas Valley community. The Ronald McDonald House® of Greater Las Vegas is the cornerstone program of RMHC and provides temporary housing for families that travel to Las Vegas to receive critical medical treatment for their children. The music festival will take place at the Clark County Amphitheater – located at 500 South Grand Central Parkway. Doors open at 1 p.m., and the first performance will begin at 2 p.m.
In addition to music, the festival will also include a variety of food vendors and family-friendly entertainment.
